1. Who I am

trailblazer.fm is a personal website owned and run by me, Lee Matthew Jackson. It holds the archive of Trailblazer FM, a podcast I hosted that is no longer in active production, though I may occasionally publish a new thought piece.

I am the data controller for any personal data collected through this site. In this notice, “I”, “me” and “my” refer to me.

The site was previously run by Jxns Group Ltd. That company no longer exists, and the site is now owned and run by me personally.

Contact: get in touch with me through leematthewjackson.com.

2. What data I collect

This site is an archive. It has no shop, no user accounts and no payments, so I collect very little:

  • Technical data: your IP address, browser type and version, device and operating system, and the pages you visit. My web server collects this automatically.
  • Contact data: if you get in touch with me, I receive your name, your email address and whatever you choose to write.
  • Comments: if comments are open on a post and you leave one, I receive your name, your email address, your comment and your IP address.

I do not collect any special category (“sensitive”) data, and I do not collect any data about criminal convictions.

I do not sell your data. I do not use it for marketing or analytics, and I do not send newsletters.

4. Who I share it with

I share data only with the service providers that help me run the site, and only to the extent they need it. These are providers of website hosting and email. They may use your data only to provide their service to me.

I will also share data if the law requires me to.

5. Podcast players and third-party links

Episode pages may embed players from podcast and video platforms, or link to them. These platforms include Spotify, Apple Podcasts, YouTube and my podcast host. When you play an episode or follow a link, those services may set cookies and collect data about you. Their own privacy policies cover what they do, and I don’t control them.

6. International transfers

Some of my service providers may process data outside the UK. When they do, I rely on UK adequacy regulations, such as the UK Extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, or on the ICO-approved International Data Transfer Agreement or Addendum.

7. How long I keep it

  • Server logs: up to 90 days
  • Emails and messages: only as long as I need them to deal with your message, and deleted after no more than 2 years
  • Comments: for as long as the comment is published, or until you ask me to remove it

8. Security

I take reasonable steps to protect the data I hold. These include HTTPS, keeping software up to date and limiting access to the site’s admin.

9. Your rights

Under UK data protection law, you have the right to:

  • ask for a copy of your personal data
  • ask me to correct it
  • ask me to delete it
  • object to or restrict how I use it
  • ask for it to be transferred to you or someone else

To use any of these rights, get in touch with me through leematthewjackson.com. Doing so is normally free, and I aim to reply within one month. I may need to confirm who you are before I act on a request.

10. Complaints

If you’re unhappy with how I’ve handled your data, please contact me first so I can try to put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
