Goodbye… The last ever Trailblazer FM episode

Goodbye… The last ever Trailblazer FM episode

Lee Matthew Jackson

February 26, 2025

After nearly a decade, Trailblazer FM is coming to an end. In this farewell episode, I share the reasons behind this difficult decision and what the future holds. (Actually I am super vague about the reasons but I am slowly learning not to be so open about personal stuff!).

Over the past year and a half, I’ve been struggling with health issues, and it’s become clear that I need to prioritize my well-being, my family, and simplify my commitments. This means stepping away from the podcast, Agency Transformation Live, and content creation for Trailblazer FM as a whole.

What’s Next?

  • The podcast will no longer continue, but with over 400 episodes, I’d love your thoughts on what to do with the archive. Should it remain as evergreen content? Should I sell it to an agency or hosting company? Let me know your ideas!
  • No more YouTube content – The channel will be archived.
  • I’m stepping away from social media – I’ve deleted the Facebook group, Instagram, and Twitter/X. The only place I’ll remain active is LinkedIn, so if you’d like to stay in touch, connect with there.
  • I’m still podcasting on Event Engine Cast – If you’re in the events industry, you can still hear me chatting with industry experts over at eventenginecast.com.
  • Occasional blogging – I may post now and then over on leematthewjackson.com, where I previously shared a post on why I had to stop everything.

This has been an incredible journey, and I am so grateful for every listener, supporter, and friend I’ve made along the way. Thank you for being part of Trailblazer FM.

Connect with me on LinkedIn and let’s chat. Oh and HEY…. if you already have my WhatsApp, feel free to drop me a message!

Take care,
Lee x

Welcome to the Trailblazer FM podcast. This is your host, Lee. On today’s show, we’re featuring my wonderfully deep voice. Yes, I had a upper respiratory infection, and I’m rather than enjoying this rather deep Jazz FM smooth our voice. On that note, I want to jump on and share some news with you all. The podcast is No More. That’s right. I am hanging up my headphones and closing the Trailblazer FM podcast, so this is a goodbye. That does mean there’ll be no more Agency Transformation Live and no more Trailblazer FM podcasts coming your way anytime soon. You may or may not be aware that over the last year and a half or so, I’ve been struggling with a range of health issues, and that has led me to have to slow things down here at Trailblazer FM, and eventually to now the point where I really do just need to carve out an awful lot more time for me, for family, et cetera, and need to drop all of the excess tasks that I was overloading myself with. That includes being on social media all the time and creating heaps and heaps of content and being out there.

So yes, it is very sad. Nearly 10 years of Trailblazer FM, and I am saying goodbye. So first of all, thank you for listening to this show. Thank you for your support over the years. I would really love if you could connect with me over on LinkedIn. So go ahead and go to trailblazer. Fm. And at the very top, there’s a pink bar across the top with my LinkedIn profile. So come over there, connect with me over on LinkedIn. Let me know what your memories were of the podcast, of the event, et cetera. If you have any ideas of what we could do with over 400 episodes of Trailblazer FM over the last 10 years, whatever it’s been, then please let me know. Maybe a new host can take I don’t know. It does feel a bit like a waste to drop it all. But at the same time, for my own sake and for my own health, it absolutely makes sense for me now to step away from it and work out what to do with the asset. Be that just archive it and leave it there as evergreen content for people to enjoy as a look back as to what things were, et cetera, or perhaps as there is value, I guess, in the content, perhaps position it for sale to a hosting a company, an agency, I’m not sure.

If you have any ideas, please do connect with me on LinkedIn. I would love to know because it does seem like a waste to just walk away. But it’s also something that I really need to do for me. This does mean that the YouTube channel will not be getting any more content either, so that will be archived. However, if you still want to listen to me chatting now and again, the Event Engine Cast, which is over on eventenginecast. Com, is still alive and kicking and will continue on into the future. We have a great lineup of guests in the events industry. If you put on events or work with anyone in the events industry, then it’s certainly a podcast you may want to go ahead and check out. That’s something that we started just before lockdown. We timed it super well because then we were able to educate people how to go online with their events for that awkward year or two. And then we’ve continued to grow since then, which has been wonderful. So that’s over on eventenginecast. Com. I will also be posting now and again over on leemathieujackson. Com, where I might share some lesson along the way.

For example, my most recent blog, which was actually posted. When was this posted? Let’s take a look. I don’t know. A year ago? Yeah, it was posted a year ago. Is all about why I’ve had to stop everything. It goes into a little a bit more detail as to what’s been going on in my life. So it might be helpful to anyone who’s hitting burnout or any other medical issues. It’s only a short post, but it’s something there, and that will be somewhere where I might post the odd thought, et cetera. But frankly, I am exhausted. I’m exhausted with posting content. I’m exhausted with creating all the time. I’m exhausted with competing in the world of social media and all of that good stuff. So I have taken a massive I took a step back and I’ve continued that step back. I’ve not been on social media much. I’ve been slowly carving out my social media accounts, including deleting the Facebook group. That was over 4,000 people in there deleted the group. I’ve reduced my Facebook significantly. I’ve removed the 10K strong… No, 8K strong? I don’t know. Big Instagram account we had. Just all the pressure of all these different accounts.

The Twitter account or X as it now is as well. Deleted those. I still have LinkedIn just because that’s good for networking as a business. That’s something I can do in work hours, hence you can connect with me on LinkedIn. But yes, I’ve been carving out social media as well and just not posting for the business either, but rather focusing on things like local networking, et cetera, or posting on behalf of other businesses where I can support them in creating really good content which engages their audience. That’s where I’m having the most fun. Rather than being friend of centre, I’m enjoying being behind the scenes and helping other businesses with the skills that I’ve learned over the last 8-10 years. So, yeah, that’s me. Connect with me on LinkedIn. Thank you so much for all of your support. That is it for Trailblazer FM. If you have those ideas, connect with me on LinkedIn. That’d be great. I’d be very happy to hear any ideas that you may have, especially if anyone wants to write a nice big check. That will always be lovely. And I’ll see you on Event Engine cast. I won’t see you on YouTube.

I won’t see you on social media other than on LinkedIn. And I might post a blog over on Lee Matthew Jackson now and again. That’s me, Lee Matthew Jackson. Com. If you do want to keep in touch, do connect with me on LinkedIn. If you have my WhatsApp already, say hi. I’d love to hear from you. And I’m sorry if I’ve not WhatsAppped you back for a while. It’d be great to have a conversation with people. But for anyone who’s made friends with me over the years, let’s go chat over there in WhatsApp world or actually on the phone. All of the above is fine by me. Take care.
